Triple-Split Definition
Learning to be a better parent and helping my child with self-awareness.
Understanding the Triple-Split Definition in the Human Design System has helped me be a better parent.
In the simplest terms it means that you have three different energy groupings within you according to your personalized Bodygraph chart. Being around others helps you process things. Working in a coffee shop could be ideal for you.
My child has it in their chart whereas I have Single Definition in mine. Which simply means I'm naturally independent and can feel like others often interrupt my flow. Working in a coffee shop for me is not ideal.
If you or someone you know has this in their chart, it's important to understand whether solitude or being around others is more beneficial.
Understanding the Triple-Split Definition
Feeling like you're being pulled in different directions is common with this definition. Your heart might be pulling you in one direction, your head in another, and your emotions in yet another. The pressure can be intense as it builds up.
People with this definition often have difficulty with making decisions and setting boundaries. Thus, bringing on a lack of clear goals or direction in life.
The following are some characteristics of having this definition in your chart.
Naturally Seeks Connection with Others
You don't necessarily need to speak to anyone, just being in their presence is helpful. Even if it means being in a public place such as a restaurant, coffee shop, library, and/or an airport. Almost any public place can offer you a variety of connections coming in and out of your presence.
Processing Information
Being with others helps you to process information in order to gain clarity. Processing things can take time. It can be more comfortable for you to be with a variety of people, allowing an energetic connection of the three splits within your bodygraph.
Relationships
When in a committed relationship with one partner, it's best if you have the freedom to be out and about in public settings. This will give you the opportunity to experience different connections within.
Bringing movement and flow into relationship structures is part of who you are. You could feel trapped, scattered, and impatient if you're around the same person all the time.
Work Environment
There is a desire for diversity and a sense of newness that you crave in your work environment. Thus, creating a sense of aliveness.
Seek guidance and mentorship from others with more experience who can offer you different perspectives. Otherwise, you could rush into things too fast and not feel productive.
Conclusion of the Triple-Split Definition
There are a few different definitions in the Bodygraph chart. Do you know yours?
Before I learned about this, I thought my child would thrive in solitude like I do. Now, I encourage going more places as I see it lights them up to be around others.
I noticed how my child thrives being in the school environment whereas I disliked that environment. My child didn’t do well with the isolation part of the pandemic whereas I enjoyed it.
Do you find that you get answers for yourself more often when you’re with others or in solitude?

Lol that's funny. My mom is also a single definition Projector, 6/2, and dad is a triple split 2/4 Manifestor 😄
Triple split here and learning this aspect of my design is one that has been extremely insightful and one that I feel like I haven't quite paid enough attention to, to be honest. It's interesting, because for over 20 years I was in the food and beverage industry working in hotels, restaurants, and country clubs, and constantly came in contact with hundreds of people in a day sometimes. Now, I work by myself and there are many days when I come in contact with no one. I have noticed when I make trips to the store, it does have the power to really affect me afterwards and so I realize I really need to try to get out more often. I've started getting into the habit of going to the store more frequently to get a few things here and there as opposed to my big shopping trips every couple weeks or so like I used to.
