One of the first Substacks I magically stumbled upon as I explored my new Substack obsession, was Elsie’s.
I couldn’t help but be drawn to her because she wrote straight to my heart. We have so many similarities and I can deeply feel her profound poetic words.
Elsie shares such meaningful mostly short posts. She is currently visiting her homeland of Germany and I cannot wait for all the stories she comes back to tell.
Her Clarity is refreshing. It’s easy to recognize her natural story telling ability. I see you, Elsie. Through the humor, the tears, the wisdom you so graciously share, and the collaboration… I see you.
The following is a timeless short poem that Elsie published on 5/30/2024.
It’s no surprise we ended up working together on what she created called The JEL-Collaborative.

Thank you so much for selecting me. It's been absolutely amazing to get to know you and Jodi through SubStack. Coming here and finding "my people", being understood - has been an amazing experience. Reading about your life that seems to parallel mine has been eye-opening.
I am so happy that the words I am writing are resonating with folks. I've spent a lot of years screaming into the wind in a miserable marriage. This experience on SubStack provides such a contrast. I had started to wonder, if it was me... was it that I didn't know how to communicate well?
After all, this is not my native tongue; it's probably me. Why is it that people don't get it when I say things? - Turns out, it's because some don't want to understand. Who knew? - Oh, I do - now....
