I am just barely Gen X. I think X was the first malcontent generation without an obvious cause. Angst is a good word. Bob Barker makes me think of my grandmother and the smell of certain foods cooking.
I think every generation had a cause as to their malcontent and angst. Bob Barker was on at my grandmas house also. And of course anytime we were sick, it was at the go to show. lol
Well I was thinking about Grunge and the generally grungy attitude of that generation. It felt like there was nothing obvious like a war or something. Although, I think it was the first generation where we had to doubt if the American Dream was still a possibility.
Spot on. All of. “This hurts me more than it hurts you.” All that sh!t.
Crazy to think about how much things have changed since then, isn’t it?!

I see. I was born in ‘69 so I was in my 20’s in the ‘90’s and wasn’t big into grunge.
