Unleashing Creativity with Suno
Before we get behind the song Into the Pages, let’s talk about how Suno helps unlock creativity through AI music tools.
With so many AI tools available, my favorite creative outlet is using Suno to make music. Have you tried channeling your creativity this way yet?
My process is simple but oh so magical: when inspiration strikes, I jot it down in my phone notes to revisit later. Then when it’s time to write a full song, I pull from those notes, ask Alexa for rhyming help when I get stuck, and then turn to ChatGPT for feedback. Sometimes it’s spot-on, and other times... not so much.
Once the lyrics feel right, I give it a title and let Suno work its magic. I hit the “create” button as many times as it takes to find a beat and vocals that give me goosebumps. If you prefer the minimal approach, you can let Suno create both the lyrics and music style for you.
Usually, I have a music style in mind, but if I can’t find the right words to describe it, ChatGPT steps in.

Lyrics
Lyrics speak to us in ways as unique as our own stories. Just like a conversation, the meaning we take from a song depends on where we are in life and what we need to hear in that moment. One person might hear adventure, another hears healing. That’s the beauty of it. Lyrics meet us exactly where we are, offering moments of connection and clarity.
Musical Flow
I can’t always get the rhythm the way I hear hit in my head with Suno, but I go with what gives me goosebumps. While I try to describe the melody I want, I’m no music pro. It reminds me of Blues Traveler’s song called Hook, where they prove you can pair almost any lyric with a great beat.

Inspiration for Into the Pages
This song was inspired by my love of learning. Whether it’s self-help, nutrition, spirituality, Ai, or fiction. Life can be a hustle, but books remind us to take a little pause and recharge.
Seeing writers on Substack and knowing others lose themselves in different genres fueled my inspiration. I wanted to capture that cozy, magical feeling of slowing down and escaping into a good book.
Behind the Song
The following is some of my song and commentary about it:
(Pre-Chorus) The chair’s worn soft, the light’s just right, The stories unfold in the morning light, In this little nook, I disappear, (pause) With tales of love, Of joy, Of fear.
Commentary: Okay, so Suno didn’t “pause” exactly like I meant, it kind of whispered “pah” instead. Look. I’m a recovering perfectionist, so I’m rolling with it. Props to me, right?
(Chorus) Into the the pages, Sailing the seas, Climbing the mountains, Running with thieves. In a quiet corner, The world stands still, Book in my hand That gives a thrill. [Pause]
Commentary: I’ve done all of this metaphorically from my experience with self-help books and working on myself over the years. But if you’re a fiction lover, this might hit differently, like a literal adventure. Suno even added a pause at the end this one. Now, I know to use brackets for a pause instead of parentheses.
(Bridge) Through stories told, Whispers shared, I’ve danced with wolves (echo). I’ve boldly dared, To believe in magic. To dream of more, To find my home, Get to the core.
Commentary: “Dancing with wolves” is my way of saying I’ve faced my own shadows (and made some questionable choices). I’ve boldy dared to work on myself, helping me dream bigger and get to the core of who I am. But, if you’re into other genres, this could totally mean something else. Also, notice how the echo didn’t come across for Suno with this take.
(Verse 3) Coffee grows cold, the sun slips away, But I linger still where the heroes play. In these little havens, I’ll always stay, Lost in the words that carry me away.
Commentary: The standout goosebump moment for me came when the vocals soared a few octaves on the word "away" in the line, "Lost in the words that carry me away."
Closing Thoughts
There’s a lot more I could say about this song, but this post is beginning to feel a little bit too long. Next time, I’ll get straight to my commentary and save the rest for a different post. I hope you’ve enjoyed this little glimpse into my creative process.
But now, I’d love to hear from you! What books pull you “into the pages”? Are you all about thrills, feels, or a bit of self-discovery? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
I’ll be doing more “behind the songs” posts, and would love your input. Let me know what you’d like to see more or less of moving forward. Your feedback means a lot to me!

Thanks so much for restacking @JP Dávila
Suno is all fun and games for individuals, and admittedly can create some catchy tunes. Unfortunately, the service is unethical and might even be illegal, and in a way, using it is contributing to the goal of devaluing and dehumanizing professional music.
