Figuring it out as I go seems to be my pattern. I leap right into most adventures. Roll the dice. See if it sticks. Give it a year or two before I know if it’s something I’ll continue or just pack it up and move on to the next thing if it’s not working.
Well, my newest adventure is Substack. I investigated it enough before leaping into it to know that it will be a good home for my writing. I’ve grown tired of the websites that I’ve had since 2016.
I’m still navigating all the features of Substack, but so far it’s a 10 of 10 in my book! There seems to be a lot more features to this than I originally researched.
It’s such a great place to read about other writers and their brilliant work. To follow their journey or even subscribe to them to get their work delivered straight to my inbox. You can subscribe to some for free or pay to support them or get more perks.
I’ve met some incredible like-minded fellow writers as I’ve scrolled the notes section. You might even say, “I’ve become addicted”.
You’ll find comments more genuine and detailed on the notes and the publications sections than on any other social media platform I’ve ever experienced. It really is a thoughtful, kind, community where you can find any genre.
Side note:
A few months ago someone turned me onto the app. called Notion. What a game changer that has been! Still so much to learn there also, but learning is my favorite. At least I have all my website articles stored there, I journal daily on it, all my school work is saved, and it’s a great place to write before I transfer it to publish on Substack now. Another one where I’ll figure it out as I go.
Anyway, I would love to see you on Substack. Drop me a comment, follow, or subscribe so we can support each other.
My Bio:
I like tasty food, introspection, solitude, meaningful chats, a good belly laugh, and being around people who prefer solitude.
I don’t take things personally and I’m a solo menopausal mom to a 14-year old that took 11-years to conceive.
I write about relationships, self-awareness, gluten-free recipes I’ve created over the years, CPTSD, anxiety, depression, Human Design, and stuff.
Let me know if you need any help navigating Substack. I have the basics down at this point. We can figure it out together as we go.
Brining you sporadic non-conventional publications. A non-professional perspective on life from a Genx ginger hermit with CPTSD.
I listened to your vo as I was driving yesterday. In writing I figure it out as I go. That's when I do my best writing
I think I found a kindred spirit in you. Yes, I also jump into adventure head-first. But I don't think of myself as an adventurer. I just want a peaceful, quiet life.
Somehow, I have yet to find that. I'm glad I found your site!
