Behind the Song: I Got You | Sultry Blues Suno vs Riffusion
"I got you" and "snacks". Hands down, the sexiest words, right?!
Behind the Song
All a girl wants are some of her favorite snacks. Hahaha. It’s kinda true though. I wanted to write a sultry blues song that makes me feel taken care of since that is my love language. Feeling seen, heard, and safe? Yes please! That’s my version of sexy.
Most of us juggle so much every day with work, schedules, relationships, planning every little detail. It can be exhausting. The idea behind my song, I Got You, is that feeling of finally getting to drop all of that weight at the door and just… be. No decisions, no stress, just someone who knows exactly what you need without you having to say a word.
So, I wrote the lyrics I would want to hear from my partner. I wanted a slow, bluesy feel. However, AI-generated music isn’t exactly known for nailing it on the first try.
I kept tweaking, adjusting, and burning through credits on Suno like a slot machine addict until I finally got close to the sound I wanted. Deep, intimate blues with a slow-burning rhythm and expressive guitar breaks that let the lyrics breathe.
Suno got me almost there after a ridiculous amount of trial and error. I even tried the Riffusion App. with the same lyrics and musical style prompts. Unfortunately it kept leaving out lyrics or would sound more like country than blues.
What’s I Got You About?
It’s about her. The woman who holds everything together all day long but finally gets to let go. The one who thrives when she’s in charge but loves a man who knows when to take the reins.
This song is about that moment when she feels like she can actually kick off her shoes, melt into his arms, and let herself be led. It’s about reassurances, forehead kisses, and feeling at peace. And, yeah, there’s a favorite snack involved because well, priorities.
Give her snacks, set things up for her to be able to relax, take the mental load off of her, and take pride in knowing she feels taken care of. And when you say, 'I got you,' make sure you really got her because that's what will make those words (and you) sexy for her.
The Sound & Style
It took a lot of tweaking to get close to the slow, intimate blues feel that I envisioned. I wanted something with space to breathe that sounded a bit like a Barry White song.
Here’s what I put into Suno to get this version:
Music Style:
Sexy deep bass baritone E2 to E4 MALE vocal out front, 46 BPM slow tempo, background bass & guitar only, sensual blues, intimate, rhythmic, catchy. (Suno only allows up to 200 characters).
Exclusions:
Snare, cymbals, drums, hi-hats. (I wanted that stripped-down, late-night blues energy. I didn’t put this on the Riffusion version).
Lyrics
I formatted the lyrics in a way that Suno and Riffusion would understand. Using pauses, vocal phrasing, and instrumental breaks. It wasn’t following very well, so I just kept adding things to it.
For example, this is exactly how I wrote the first part of Verse 1:
[Verse 1 baritone MALE vocal, slow tempo] Lay down your keys by the door. [12-beat progression blues guitar break] Kick off those shoes, [6-beat pause] You don’t need ’em anymore. [12-beat progression blues guitar break] [Pause] I can see it in your eyes, [6-beat pause]
The song didn’t turn out exactly as I heard in my head, but as close as I could get to it for now.

Riffusion
Out of the 25 versions of using the same lyrics and prompts for the music style on the Riffusion App., I settled on one just to compare.
When it came to the bridge on this version, it left out the words, “With your favorite dinner in the slow cooker, candles flickering soft on the counter” and instead it says, “With your flickering soft on the counter”. On the Outro it left out, “Rubbing your feet”. It also abruptly cut off the last word in the song at the end.
Although the Riffusion App. doesn’t have the shimmer sound that Suno has been producing lately, it still needs some time for improvement.
Here’s the Riffusion Version:
I’d love to know how this song makes you feel. Does it capture that feeling of being taken care of? Of trusting someone to know what you need before you even ask?
Did you notice differences in the two different versions?
P.S. One of my songs just made it into a contest on Flair Ai Radio called Battle of the Bands. More on that later!
