Intro. to our Prompt
The Human Design Projector Type has a focused, absorbing aura that interacts with others on a deep energetic level. They see right into a person’s soul, which can make others feel intimidated.
Their strategy is to wait for recognition and an invitation to share their insights. Otherwise, they risk being misunderstood.
When people are genuinely interested, they listen and you feel heard. If you jump in uninvited, you might come across as a know-it-all.
100-Word Self-Awareness Challenge
Prompt: Know-it-all
I reluctantly accepted my friend’s dinner party invitation, knowing she would be the only one I knew there.
Sharing a passion for healthy eating with my friend, I assumed others at the party had the same interest. So, when it came up, I jumped into their conversation without hesitation.
But I quickly realized that not everyone was as enthusiastic about healthy eating as we were. I was able to redirect the conversation, but the damage was done.
Why didn’t I wait to be asked instead of offering up my unsolicited opinions with such passion? The rest of the evening, I sat back, waiting for an invitation to share more, so I wouldn’t come across as the know-it-all.
Have you ever had that awkward moment where you felt like you were perceived as the know-it-all? Or maybe you’ve misunderstood someone’s passion and their timing was off.
What ways have you experimented with similar situations and what have you learned from them?
Are you up for the 100-word self-awareness challenge? Share your know-it-all story in the comments or tag me if you share it elsewhere.

Lori K Today reflects on life through mostly short fictional stories. Focusing on mental health, wellness, and experimenting with Human Design.
I wasn’t sure I would get along with the group, for I don’t know them. But they were warm and inviting.
As we discussed, I realized they were giving out prompts that I could pick up and make a quip or relate a relevant story.
I seemed to be brighter than them; it was easy to make them laugh.
But I had to hold back. I was dominating the conversation. It’s better for each person to feel like they contributed. If I kept going, they would dismiss me as the know-it-all. I kept quiet and listened intently for a while.
Thanks so much for the restack @Jenna B. Neece 🙌🙌🙌
